Success is way easier to spot in others than it is to achieve for yourself. Success starts with the daily rituals that set you up for success.
We’ve set our goal. We’ve got our eyes fixed on what we want. Motivated, fired up, ready to go. We are on track and everything is moving forward and then…
Life somehow just gets in the way. Sure, we still want to achieve our goal.
But we’re busy. It’s just not the ‘right time’.
So, we tend to reassure ourselves, that we will start on Monday, next week, next month etc etc.
So here are some of the daily
Rituals that set you up for success :
Starting your day with exercising has many positive effects. Some people advice that you have to work out in the morning or in the evening. Instead, just find the time that suits you best and exercise is best for you.
For some, working out in the morning is a great way to kick off the day. Others would rather use the morning to work and enjoy winding down with a workout in the evening.
Exercise gives you more energy, boosts your mood and at the same time acts as a stress-management tool.
2. Design Your Day
Planning your day according to you is one of the most important rituals that set you up for success.
One of life coach Laurie Gerber’s favorite rituals is to write a “daily design” of how she wants her day to play out. You might already write down a task list, but you don’t know which should be most important to you or what to do first.
Write down 2-4 problems you had going into that day, and this might help you find your highest priority as well as maybe find new tasks that you can do for the day.
Make your to-do list a night before which will help you prioritize your tasks.
3. Get enough sleep.
Sleeping enough also gives our brain the necessary time to recharge and process the information that we received throughout the day.
It can be difficult to make the conscious effort to get enough sleep when you are busy, but doing so will allow you to tackle life with everything that you have each day.
To achieve your goals is about working smarter, not harder. And one daily practice to boost performance is a good night sleep. Studies have shown the impact on performance that lack of sleep can have.
In fact, sleeping just five hours a night, instead of seven can lead to poor motivation, concentration.
4. Never Stop Asking for Advice and Help
The foremost rule or the must ritual that set you up for success is that always tale advice. Everything that’s ever been great has come from a team and not a single effort, from Apple all the way back to the Egyptian Pyramids.
By asking for advice from your elders which have more experience than you will surely help you in one way or the other.
5. Practice Gratitude
Gratitude is one of those daily habits, that is on the increase because it works. Simply reflect and write down three things that you are grateful for.
As a direct result of this daily habit, you will see a boost in your mood as you mindfully enjoy the journey to achieve your goals.
Practice morning gratitude as well. It is less about the exercise and more about the moment of gratitude to start the day.
6. Read Often
Deciding what to read can be difficult, but do not use that as an excuse. There are endless book reviews and recommendations out there that can help you pick.
It’s no secret that the most successful people in the world are voracious readers.
When Bill Gates and Warren Buffett were once asked about which superpower they would choose if they could have any superpower in the world, they both said the same thing: Speed Reading.
While not all of us have that much time, reading should be a major priority in 2018. With so much negativity and junk on social media, reading is a much better use of your time.
Reading is and learning from new things is one of those rituals that set you up for success.
Read something outside your business interest. Read an article that this different from your favorite topic. This will challenge your thinking.
7. Do something that makes you uncomfortable and scary.
The most successful people take risks and challenge themselves. Making an effort each day to do something that pushes you out of your comfort zone will have endless benefits.
Being able to take chances is often the only way to yield large rewards. Most of us like to avoid embarrassment, rejection, and failure.
Your brain wants to help you avoid these situations as they can be uncomfortable and scary.
The more often you do something that scares you, the more it will begin to shape who you are as a person.
No longer will you be afraid of saying hi to a stranger, signing up for a half marathon or speaking up in a meeting.
8. Make the Time
It’s easy to retreat to the excuse of “I don’t have time.” The truth is that you do. You just have to make the time. And one glaring area of your life that probably needs it most is time for just yourself.
Rituals that set you up for success includes time management as well. We should know what to do and when to do and make time for the task which needs to be done at the right time without any excuses.
Meditation seems to be a recent trend as studios, classes, and online courses are popping up everywhere, but this practice has been around for centuries.
A daily meditation practice can help lower stress, increase happiness, reduce anger, and help you develop an attitude of gratitude.
Meditating in the morning is a great way to start your day, as it will reset your mind and body before the eventual chaos of our everyday lives sweeps in.
Meditation is one of the best rituals that set you up for success and will also help you become more mindful of your thoughts, deal with tough situations better, and start your day on a positive note.
You’re going to see meditation in a couple of different categories here because it is that beneficial. Anyone who sees tranquil act thinks it’s a waste of time but no one who tries it more than twice says anything bad about it.
It’s daunting to learn, but once you’ve got the hang of it, it has many beneficial uses.
